Sort of.
Hello my Nitelitez,
So yesterday I was hoping to post a journal explaining how I was doing a bit of soul searching when it came to my BW3 project but I was so in the moment I never actually got to it. I was thinking about how years ago when I first started the project I was so excited, but then as time passed and I came up with so many ideas it just became too stressful. In fact I had way too many ideas and that is what has led to what you see now; a split in the project. I wanted to re-unite the project as one single game, but in order to do that I had to make a focused clear plot line.
So later on yesterday and partly into this afternoon today I completed that plot line and now on paper, the game is complete. And that covers also the game mechanics I've decided on for the game as well so I don't go overboard. It doesn't list specifically which story characters will do what, but it does limit how many story characters will be in the game so I don't just unload a ton of unnecessary characters. Speaking of which, except for maybe one or two characters I still have to make, all the characters I have are basically who I'll be using.
To give you a basic outline of what I'm planning, here is a brief bullet point piece of what I have in terms of story progression:
You start as a student at school to introduce you to your friends and rivals you will see as the game progresses. You move on to being a new trainer and encounter a Team Skull-like team who are running around starting trouble in Unova as you are also trying to take on the Pokemon League. Midway between being a beginner and average level trainer you take on some training at the local Ranger HQ to help with a crisis in central Unova. After you do your training and help fix the crisis the game time-skips a couple years. The Team Skull group isn't as big anymore and now you move on to taking on Team Plasma and foiling all of their plans. That all lasts till the end of the player beating the league where it seems like both Skull and Plasma are finally defeated. Finally the main event, the post game, where you face the true enemy of the game and save both Unova and the world from destruction.So basically it's a gradual progression from fun and easy to dark and difficult. Well for the plot anyway, there will still be nice lighthearted things you can do in the game. Oh and I've also figured out a way for the player to battle all the gyms in the game. You can do some of the gyms in whatever order you wish and depending on how many gyms you've beaten so far the difficulty will change to suit it. More gyms don't mean more plot, it's just a way for you the player to gain more exp. So I'm off to finally work on the final draft of the game!
