I'm looking for something witty to say up here and I'm drawing a blank - I'm sure you can do better or just edit this out. You can also use this div to get in some additional info at the bottom.

Hello my equally excited Nitelitez,

So for some time I have been trying to figure out how, if I ever wanted to make a Persona fangame, how exactly would I do it? You see the thing is that when it comes to any RPG Maker training I have, it's more so professional when I use the Pokemon Essentials kit. So then that begs the question, how to modify a Pokemon game enough to make it like a Persona game. They're already both turn based games and you can add all the attacks to make them how you want them to seem like Persona attacks. The overworld exploration and eventing is a bit more complex because Persona games function based on switches and variables on a deeper scale than Pokemon games do. But in time I'll figure that out.

What I have managed to figure out though is the combat system. My initial idea was to treat the Pokemon as the Personae and Shadows for the enemies. But the problem with that is you can never fight as a human. Not that most of us ever really fight as humans in Persona games, but we do it so we don't cost ourselves HP or SP to do attacks. So I thought, rather than make Pokemon Personae that I'd make them people. And to tie it all together, rather than evolution be for evolving Personae, it would be the sequence in which a person would switch equipment. Switched equipment, like Pokemon evolution would change your appearance (holding the new weapon), change your type (weapon type) and upgrade/downgrade your stats.

But what about Persona powers; they're the main part of the game right? As far as I've gotten, Personae will be attacks the player can use and thus they will come from leveling up for your main Persona or taught to yourself using TMs; or in this case Persona cards. All that I'd need to do is learn the Pokemon Essentials animation editor and then I could show off Persona attacks kind of how they look in Persona Q.

The only issue that still remains though is the fact that horde battles are still not a feature anyone has made. And even if they did, the screen is just too small to fit so many sprites in it. So at max you could only have double battles; despite how many other people are in your party. Also there is yet to be a scan skill made for Pokemon Essentials, so you couldn't check the shadow's strength and weakness and that would make battles much harder.

So as you can see, there is still a long way to go. But hey, at least I got a good chunk of it done; that's gotta count for something right? Well, just thought I'd share that little tidbit; especially if it helps you in your own game development. Not that I've seen anyone out there trying to make a Persona game with PE. lol

This is almost the same div as in the header, it has an added white line at the top to set it apart from the stuff above - you may want to use it to add a copyright notice, or a short blurb concerning commissions or whatever else you want. I'm now using it to tell you that the cup in the header was from Kaotiksymphony-Stock and that I used iMouritsa's brushes.

Maybe have normal attacks be your character attacking and special attacks the persona attacking.
