Digimon Progress 4

Hey everyone,

So first off, based on how things are going, I doubt the intro will be done by the end of the week; original characters can be a lot of work to make. On that note, the next character I am working on is another female protagonist; a friend of both Hana and you. Maybe I'll have a sketch out today, we'll see.

Another thing I've been working out is the Digimon themselves; specifically the starter trios you get in the beginning. At first I wanted their themes to stick to how they're obtained (mentioned in Progress 3). But then I thought an added bonus would be to make the three choices reflect the three attributes (Vaccine / Data / Virus). That tied in with the these really helped a lot in working out the designs. But then a I was drawing them I noticed that they were all a bit too the same; that is to say within each category. I remembered that if I want multiple Digivolution forms (which I do), then each of the nine would be best made into 9 different types. This isn't Pokemon so I don't need to worry about the types rivaling each other, but with more types means more evolution possibilities. Well evolutions that make a bit more logical sense.

Within the revised version of my Pokemon turned Digimon games, along with the 3 attributes, a "Light" type, and a "Status" type for stat moves, the new types are as follows:

Bug - Insect
Dark - Darkness
Electric - Thunder
Fire - Flame
Flying - Air
Ghost - Death
Grass - Wood
Ground - Earth
Ice - Ice
Normal - None
Poison - Poison
Rock - Stone
Steel - Metal
Water - Water

Making a total of 19 types that opens up the possibility to many evolutions. Now even though 10 of these types won't be the starters, different types of Digimon can always give birth to weird evolutions; like Armadimon to Submarimon. Here as it stands are the trios I have been working on

Vaccine Trio:
Light
Flame
Ice

Data Trio:
Darkness
Wood
Poison

Virus Trio:
Metal
Stone
Death

The following may change, but for the moment that's what they'll be. I do have some old and new Digimon decided on; odds are for some of the old ones I may re-make or add on to them. So that's all the info I have on that topic right now, back to work!
