Introduction:

After selecting "New Game" the screen changes to an image of a canyon with a giant anchor protruding out of it. It's old, rusty, partially covered in moss and small Pokemon can be seen perched on and around it. From the anchor a large heavy chain extends into the sky and the camera pans up to follow it into the clouds above. From the clouds the camera shows a distant view of the caged sky city. At the top right corner text reads "The Chandelier".

Narrator: "What is the "7th Key"? Is it an item? There are 7 different Pokeballs, 7 different berries and 7 different HMs. Is it a Pokemon? Your starter has 7 forms, there are 7 legendary Pokemon and 7 rare pokemon. Is it a person? There are 7 main characters and 7 official gym leaders."

The camera zooms in on one of the cages to the very bottom edge. The top right corner now reads "The West Cage". At the edge Alouette (you) is sitting; her feet dangling and silently watching a flock of Vacage flying around. Your expression shows you seem to be lost in thought as you watch.

Alouette: "I wish I could fly with all of you... free."

Behind Alouette is a dark alley exit and from it an orphan boy runs out.

Orphan Boy: "Alouette! Come quick, he's here!

Alouette doesn't turn around, she doesn't seem to care no matter what the news may be.

Alouette: "What is it Oliver?"

Oliver: "The League Champion is in the city center giving out free challenges to anyone who wants to face him! Come on Alouette, you should take him on!

Alouette: "What's the point? There are no gyms in the West Cage; even if I were to win there is nowhere I can go and nothing to use my experience for. Besides, he's a "Champion", there would be no way I could win.

Oliver: "Well if you have nothing to gain and nothing to lose then why not just do it?"

Alouette: "... Fine."

Oliver: "Fantastic! I'll go tell the others you are coming.!"

Oliver runs off and disappears into the alley. You get up from you seat and one of the Vacage's returns to you.

Alouette: "Alright Vacage, lets see what all the fuss is about."

You are now free to move around. The alley exit leads to many other alleys; most of which are blocked and in need of HMs to get through. Heading forward North and up some stairs you arrive in the "City Center". It is filled with empty old buildings, cobblestone paths and a clear view into the center to the ceiling above and surrounding sky. in the middle of the area is a crowd of people to which you head over to the center to meet the Champion who is there.

He is a young man in an expensive tuxedo; his white hair which parts to both sides like wings reaches the ground and he is surrounded by powerful looking bird Pokemon. He turns to face you and approaches.

Champion: "Good day young lady, these boys and girls have told me you are one of the most popular trainers in this cage."

Alouette: "Most popular? I've only seen about a half dozen trainers in this whole cage; a title like that isn't worth owning. So are you the Champion?"

Icarus: "Ah yes, please excuse my poor manners. I am the Chandelier's champion Icarus. Are you afraid to face me knowing that I have such high status?"

Alouette: "I don't have any high expectations about winning but I also don't care if you were a trainer or a Champion. I said I will do it and so I will."

Icarus: "Rebellious and focused; I like that! Come, show me what you can do."

The battle ensues between the two of you. It is relatively easy, he only has one lv. 3 Klefki in his party. And after you win:

Narrator: "The crowd cheers in excitement for you and your stunning victory."

Icarus: "Congratulations on winning your battle young trainer!"

Alouette: "No."

Icarus: "I'm sorry?"

Alouette: "You should be! What was that? That was a joke, you just came here to toy with us didn't you. What was your goal; please the young orphans of West Cage to make yourself a bit more popular; some sort of ego boost?"

Icarus: "You're right, I did not try my hardest. But that is because I am not here for battle, I am here looking for a trainer of strong will and determination in order to make them my protege."

Alouette: "What, so I can call you sir and do all your errands?

Icarus: "So I can set you free."

Alouette: "What are you talking about? No one can be free to leave this cage to the North or South Cage without beating a gym. And there are no remaining gyms in the West Cage!"

Icarus: "There is one badge in the West Cage that is hardly known. Come with me, I'll mold you into a better trainer and let you have that badge. And once you move on to the next cage, beat their gyms and then eventually beat the league you can earn your unlimited freedom!"

Alouette: "Unlimited freedom... I don't entirely believe you but I also feel like you aren't lying either. Fine, I'll take your offer for now, but if I sense you are misleading me I'm out."

Icarus: "Very well, it is a deal. And what would your name be you young miss?

Alouette: "You'll earn the privilege of knowing my name if I see you are telling the truth."

Icarus: "Fair enough."

Alouette: "Now give me the badge."

Icarus: "No; if you want it you have to earn it. I will be waiting for you on the western most edge of the Cage; follow the alley ways till you reach a dark tight alley. At it's end you will find me waiting."

Icarus uses the HM Fly and soars off into the distance.

Alouette: "Alright, we'll play it your way... for now."

Oliver approaches you.

Oliver: "That was pretty cool Alouette, soon you'll be a Champion too! But don't forget to the "Treasure Trove" to get healed and get helpful items."

Alouette: "Don't worry Oliver, I've done this before."

the "Treasure Trove" is a store in the West Cage that contains a healing crystal to fully heal your party and sells Crysts (crystals). A Cryst could be a healing stone or even an evolution stone; there are a few varieties. You can shop and explore a decent amount of the West Cage but nothing is really going on at the moment so it's best to move on with the story and go to where you are needed in the west end.

To be continued in Part 2.
So this is the introduction and a bit of the beginning for my Pokemon fangame "The 7th Key". So the "Chandelier" is a grouping of 5 giant cages containing cities floating in the sky. Also, I mentioned that your starter has 7 forms; that is because your starter has 3 optional second evolutions, 2 of which have next evolutions which have a single Mega evolution between them. So in total 7 forms / stages. But we'll get more into that in part 2.

Questions or comments welcome. Enjoy! :D
