This is the first gym leader for my fangame "The 7th Key" and he uses Crystite (Rock) types. And before you ask, no he's not a demon and no I'm not basing my 7 gyms on deadly sins or anything like that.

The gym leader is in a jewelry store and represents the desire for shiny things; he's not good or evil, just is. The reason why I named Rock type to "Crystite Type" is because all rock types in my game will be of glass or crystals; hence the name change. And with this altered type, a place where crystals are bought seemed an appropriate place for a gym of that type.

When I begin working on the demo for 2014 this will be the gym leader for it (of course) and it will help set the tone of how the game feels. After winning you will receive one of the gems that can help evolve your starter.

When I first saw him I thought he was based off a sableye too, hehe.

His design is very fancy and I'm digging the colours, but I feel like there could be a bit more shape or detail-composition to it is that makes sense? The little details all over his design feel like they could be arranged in such a way they could primarily draw focus to one part of his body, e.g. primarily his torso to draw more attention to his upper body while you'd keep the rest simple. Giving characters distinct shapes also helps set them apart, i.e. you could puff up his shoulders a bit to put in characteristic shape in there, or exaggerate his shoes more shape-wise. Gym leaders are pretty important characters, so thinking of shapes is important! In example, consider the XY gym leaders, who all have pretty similar generic anatomy but their own distinct shapes. Valerie's sleeves, Korrina's space-boot skates (and hair), Viola's pants... Grant and his skin-tight clothes doesn't count ignore Grant
